Indications:
Palpitations, insomnia, tinnitus, and diminished acuity of hearing and vision. Also used for seizure.

Modifications:
- Seizures with abundant phlegm, add Zhi Ban Xia, Dan Nan Xing, and Dai Zhe Shi
- Concurrent Liver and Kidney yin deficiency, combine with Liu Wei Di Huang Wan
- Phlegm-heat in the chest, take with Wen Dan Tang
- Irritability, fever, and severe insomnia, add Zhi Zi and Lian Zi Xin
- Severe palpitations, add Long Chi and Zi Bei Chi.
- Should not be used without significant modification for problems with visual or auditory acuity associated with fire from Liver and Kidney deficiency.
- The heavy metal toxicity of Zhu Sha renders its use obsolete and requires substitution.
