Indications:
Intestinal abscess (classical for appendicitis). Pain lower right abdomen as if in Lin syndrome but normal urination, pain aggravated by movement. Shaped mass, such as worms, in abdomen. Intermittent fever, sweat, chills, leg flexure which is sign of appendicitis, i.e. only is comfortable when leg is flexed.

Notes:
- Severe abdominal pain, add Chuan Lian Zi, Yan Hu Suo, Ru Xiang and Mo Yao
- Abdominal fullness, add Zhi Shi, Hou Po, and Bing Lang
- High fever, add Huang Lian and Shi gao
- With palpable mass in the lower abdomen, add Dang Gui, chi Shao, and Zi Hua Di Ding
- Prior to the formation of pus or ulceration, add Jin yin Hua, Pu Gong Ying, Bai Jiang Cao, Lian Qiao, Chi Shao, and Da Xue Teng
- Feeling of incomplete evacuation of the stools caused by yin deficiency, add Xuan Shen and Sheng Di Huang
- Intestinal abscess without pus, add Zao Jiao Ci and Bai Zhi
