Blood Pressure Body Types
From shiatsu Master Yukio Nasako
Palpation
- UB10 and the area between may feel puffy, thick, hot, or painful
- Superior attachments of the trapezius muscles feels ropey, painful, or swollen
- Kori (hardness, tightness, or swelling) on the lateral scapula and inferior to spine of scapula
Treatment
Step 1
- SP6 - bilateral - 45 degrees with meridian. If there is pitting edema at this point, add 8 okyu moxa.
- SP9 - bilateral - 10 degrees with meridian. Needle into the gelosis attached to the bone at this point. Stimulate the point with small in and out thrusts.
Step 2 - Pericardium Treatment
- If PC8 pressure pain - needle PC3, PC5 (metal, water)
- If PC8 not painful - needle PC6
- If PC8 pressure feels good - need PC8 or jPC4
Step 3
- Treat Master Nagano’s blood pressure point Under Third Toe. This point is treated with shallow insertion of a 15mm Japanese #1 needle at a sensitive point. Add 7-8 okyu moxa if feet are cold.
- Needle areas of kori under scapular spine, perpendicular, add kyutoshin until kori are resolved
- If LI4 pressure pain - needle & retain 20 minutes
- If LI4 pulsating - add okyu
- REN14 - 15 degrees with meridian - superficial to 0.1 inch
- REN12 - 15 degrees with meridian - superficial to 0.2 inches
- KD13 - bilateral - add kyutoshin if cold
- REN6 - add kyutoshin if cold
- UB10 - superficial needling - in & out thrusts - remove without retention
- GB20 - superficial needling - in & out thrusts - remove without retention
